It is with great sadness that we report the the passing of the former Wimbledon Champion, Jana Novotná, aged 49. Novotná was born in Czechoslovakia in 1968 and began her tennis professional career in February 1987.  She won Wimbledon no fewer than 6 times, conquered on every surface and occupied No 1 and No 2 rankings, in doubles and singles respectively.
