Federer states intention to extend his career

After winning the Miami Open, Novak Djokovic has clocked up another title in his career, with this being his 55th, and his 5th in the Florida tournament. Now, you don’t get to number 1 in the world without the odd tantrum in the way, and Novak is amongst the angriest of them all.

However, he seems to have honed this anger into something he can use, according to Greg Rusedski. He believes that this is the fuel behind Novak’s winning behaviour, the fact that he can have a rant and shout, blow off some steam and carry on to play incredible tennis.

Rusedski said recently that he though Novak was No1 “physically, mentally, technically and tactically”. Also giving Boris Becker, Novak’s new coach, praise for the top dog’s recent performances, Rusedski mentioned that Becker had “added a dimension” to Novak’s game by improving his serve and his position in the court.

Novak has his eyes set on a French Open victory, which is the only Gland Slam missing from his trophy cabinet at the moment. The world number 1 has the Monte Carlo and Rome Masters to battle through first, before taking the clay on a Roland Garros.

Can he finally complete his collection and join the seven other men to have won all four?
